Neighborhood Banner Update…

Faded, worn banner hanging on Capron Street

The WSCA has been engaged with the City for the past two (2) years about a project to redo and refresh the neighborhood banners you see around our neighborhood. The City has received a grant from NYS Senator Cooney’s office to execute the project, however, according to the City’s NSC Office, there have been some stumbling blocks along the way.

The WSCA keeps pushing for new banners and, at the very least, for the City to come and take the current banners down as they are old, worn, and much of the content on them has faded away. There is a current request out to the City to take down the old banners prior to the Memorial Day weekend.

We’ll keep the community updated as developments take place. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Update May 30, 2023: The City has come and taken down all of the old, faded and worn-out neighborhood banners. We will keep updating this post on the status of any new banners to be installed.
