The Washington Square is a thriving neighborhood in downtown Rochester (NY) with a mix of residential, creative, and business activity. With new apartments along the Genesee River, a Cannon that has recently been refurbished, a SkatePark, and a public Promenade for all to enjoy – this is a community with a perfect blend of old and new with a historic Square at the center of it all. The Washington Square Community Association (WSCA) is helping to bring all this together.

In the beginning

… an informal group of civic-minded residents and area business leaders gathered together to accomplish some very early clean-up efforts in and around the Square. In what started out as the Washington Square Park Neighborhood Association (January 2012), the boundaries were set with the historic Washington Square at the approximate center.

Working together

… we believe EVERYONE has the civic-duty to keep their neighborhood, streets, and public gathering places clean and safe.
