Clean Sweep 2023
A HUGE Thanks to all who came out on Clean Sweep day and helped out around our neighborhood, including pictured here: Terrell, Maureen, Jason; all three owners at Golden Supply Mfg. Supply Co. Adam, Dalvin, and Eric; Connie from M&T Bank, and Collin from @rochesterlocal on Insta. We especially THANK Fuego Coffee for donating a batch of drip coffee for our volunteers and keeping us caffeinated for the work.
We had a great time and it was great to work with friends and neighbors in our city, and two (2) successful projects #44 (Washington Square) and #45 (South Ave Extension) were cleaned up in a matter of a few hours.
Event Details:
*Note: Due to the weather, we have consolidated to one cleanup area along South Ave Ext. Thank you to all who are out with us this morning!
Saturday, April 29th, 2023, 9am-11am (meet at 9am at WSCA table in front of Fuego)
This year, the neighborhood is organizing two Clean Sweep areas around Washington Square. The first will be in Washington Square itself, the second will be along Woodbury (near Fuego Coffee) and South Ave Extension (near TGW Studios, Golden Supply, The Vesper, and Side Bar). The WSCA will have a check-in table set up in front of Fuego starting around 8:45am, please stop by and say hello and pick up t-shirts and gloves.
Fuego will be graciously donating drip coffee for all of our volunteers and will have it at our table.
Good to Know…
The City of Rochester holds Clean Sweep each spring. Please join our group between 8:45-9am in front of Fuego Coffee (you’ll see the WSCA table), or head over to Innovative Field (formerly known as Frontier Field) between 8-9am to participate in all of the City’s official Clean Sweep activities. See below for details.
Volunteers can gather to collect a free Clean Sweep T-shirt, eat a light breakfast, and get their assignments before heading out to project sites in city neighborhoods. You can join a specific clean up area or be assigned to one that needs volunteers.
Volunteers will also receive a free ticket to that day's Red Wings baseball game, which starts that afternoon. You'll also receive a voucher for food and drink at the game and free parking will be available to those wearing Clean Sweep t-shirts.
