Washington Square Community Workshop: 5/2/24
Hello Washington Square Friends & Neighbors!
We’re thrilled to announce that Washington Square has received a Project for Public Spaces Community Placemaking Grant to facilitate small-scale temporary aesthetic and programming improvements to this downtown public space. This grant supports placemaking efforts in Washington Square as outlined in the Rochester 2034 Comprehensive Plan and is facilitated by Project for Public Spaces.
We are thrilled to partner with the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation (who applied for and was awarded the grant) and Project for Public Spaces, an internationally renowned planning and design non-profit dedicated to helping people create and sustain public spaces that build stronger communities, on this project.
You are invited to a participatory Community Workshop on Thursday, May 2nd from 5 - 7 PM at 3 City Center's 1st Floor conference room. Attendees will learn more about the grant, timeline ahead, and share their ideas for Washington Square. This will be an engaging and participatory workshop. Bring your walking shoes as there will be opportunities for brainstorming on-site!
This workshop is part of the first step of engagement in a community visioning process that will take direction from and build off of the Washington Square Community Association's 2018 charette: Washington Square Community Design Exploration: Phase I (Pre-Development) 2018
Light refreshments will be provided. Parking is available on-street or in the Washington Square garage.
